From the drinks I've had thus far, the Royal Tea House beats all the other bubble tea houses in Calgary! I really recommend anyone to try this place out. I had a chance to talk to the owners and they're super nice and receptive to suggestions to improve. This pandemic definitely make it hard to go to the Royal Tea House since I'm working from home most days. If it wasn't for the location of where this store is in the heart of Chinatown and in Dragon City Mall, I would be going there frequently. I also had the opportunity to try the Cheese Matcha with Red Beans. My daughter had the Strawberry Bubble Tea and she said it was really nice with real strawberries. Wow, it was nice - not too sweet as it is natural flavors. I had the Peach Passion Fruit bubble and the Lychee Jelly versions as well. Now in 2021, I got my first few tastes of the bubble teas and bubble fruit drinks at the Royal Tea House and I'm totally impressed! The regular bubble tea was tasty, the best I've had. For the longest time, I really don't know what the hype is, especially when there's a lineup outside of Center Street downtown Chinatown in Calgary a couple of years ago for Gong Cha. I have to say - I've tried lots of Bubble Tea places, especially from the big ones like Gong Cha. If you're looking for a hangout, low-key but good vibes spot but not quiet/eerie/overpriced.this is definitely it. If you're looking for fancy.this won't be the place for you. Curry chicken rice isn't bad as well - it's not your typical Japanese style curry where it's thick, but this one has good kick and taste to it. Ultimately love the wings and bbt deal which is $10-11ish in the end. The drinks here - hits the spot with such a wide variety of mixes you can get. The wet ones were ok - appreciate the gesture of separating the sauce and the wings (so they don't get soggy) but the sauce seemed rather watery in the end and didn't stick on the wings (it soaked in instead). Would highly recommend the wings here but if it's take out, more of the dry wings. The staff here are nice, courteous and friendly. It's almost always packed each time I go at night - so haven't had the chance to experience dine in yet.Įxperienced the take out services multiple times here (ordering online) though - a very simple and straightforward process where you go in to pick up by your name and pay for it at the front desk. It reminds me of a university hang out spot where you can expect good food, decent pricing, bbt and good times with friends. Love the simplicity and atmosphere of bubblemania.
